Mother and child disunion

Here I was all set to knock out a Christmas column full of cheer and bonhomie but life, or more accurately, Daily Life has intervened.

I normally disapprove of intra-media byplays but Fairfax Media’s Daily Life section has become so full of cranky third wave feminism that someone needs to hold it up to the light. Among this waste of ink and kilobyte street corner psychobabble, comes a contribution from self described feminist Polly Dunning who tells her harrowing tale of giving birth to a shame boy. The good news is she’s slowly getting over it.

I’m not allowed to swear anymore, at least not at volume but this is sorely testing my already fragile grip on self-control.

At first blanch this was merely another addition from women who have recently given birth and have come to believe that having done so, they have unlocked the secrets of the universe. But on further reading this is a tale of a woman not just at war with men but also her own male child.

Full column here.

    Bassman .
Forget chasing down Peter Dutton you abstracted dinasaur not listening to your leader Bill Shorten who has gone silent on bkrder issues knowing Dutton batted for 12000 Syrian refugees and gained popularity from the public on humanitarian grounds and passion then expanded outward for him by the once noisy minority.
Dutton cleared the kids near 2000 from Labors locked up detention centres. His initiatives of closing dowm Labor cruelty of anticipation into action into long term strategic measures of “no more” deaths at sea and “no more smuggling trade” leaves him well received overseas .We can assure that ” no such congradulations from the UNHCR or the leftis media will thank him on his humanitarian work saving lives at sea.” Those who disagree with his strong stance of closing down the lawyers rorting this illegal trade processing under Labor term and smugglers hard at work fleecing opportunists who paying ahead of genuine refugees in camps , have no case to answer and I feel sorry for
them. It is disappointing that the barking noisy lefties ignore those in camps having no money , but continue to support the illegal smuggling trade .4 Corners few years back Srah Ferguson exposed the indentities of smugglers , rorts and nearly all paying smugglers to get here seeing the Burnsides lawyers making millions .Labor under Rudd set us into “bad relations” with Indonesia. There was so much “corruption and cover -ups” undsr the Rudd/Gillard government relating to 1200 known deaths at sea with navy dragging dead bodies out of the seas , many small kiddies .
Has anyone else out there agree that this planet should operate like this?
    I am waiting.

Just think of it….1500 votes will see Dutton gone forever….better read this Bald. I can’t think of a more cruel evil politician. He was a cop. Makes sense. I could just imagine him kicking heads in cells. Drs voted him the worst health Minister in 35yrs. Everything h e touches turns to yack and mate…he has blood on his handz.

        Rodent:- REFUGEES…U are WRONG!
        -They are NOT illegals
-It is NOT illegal to seek refuge.
-Abbott was asked on 7:30 ifd they were illegals and he said NO through gritted teeth.
-They can seek refuge anywhere they like
-They can come by parachute, submarine, boat, plane…it does not matter (except to you!)
-They are discriminated against-arrive by plane you are processed in Oz
Arrive by boat you are imprisoned on an island indefinitely, even years.
-You do NOT need documents…having them could identify you and get U killed
-The Liberals voted against everything Labor put up top stem the flow of refugees and
now Abbott whinges he should not have played politics so hard and supported the Malaysia
option which the Looters are NOW are trying to score-what hypocrites!

I beg to differ on Dutton ‘gaining popularity’ here or overseas.
The guy is widely viewed as a sanctimonious, intolerant, pious racist who justifies locking up innocent people, who only asked for help, for years on end in a hell-hole of a place where they get sub-standard care and go mad, self-harm or suicide.

A guy with the disposition of this far right-wing ‘christian’ is without doubt totally unsuitable for the position he holds.

Speaking of Trump supporters, what to make of this knuckle dragger?

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2016/12/23/trump-friend-and-n-y-campaign-co-chair-says-he-wants-obama-dead-of-mad-cow-disease-in-2017/?utm_term=.4069d6fbd3a9

Imagine that thing growing inside you! The midwife probably slapped his mother, poor girl.

    Give ’em heaps.

President by Tweets. He will cause untold damage to this planet. He is the epitome of a loose canon. His support acts are dangerous.

  • Uncle Quentin says:

And now Carrie Fisher. Regretfully, as I have posted previously the pace of boomer celebrities deaths will hold steady, maybe quicken over the next few years.
The rock n roll life style, the strain of touring and or substance abuse allied with the propensity of people to die after their three score and ten, plus thanks to the baby boom there are so many of them is going to make the next few years grim. Better to focus on their contribution and give thanks that to modern media their achievements will be with us a lot longer than that of previous generations.

Deeds of great men all remind us, we may make our lives sublime.
And departing leave behind us, foot prints in the sands of time.

  • BASSMAN says:

Why do we only get Kevin Donnelly’s opinions in education in The Oz? How about a bit of balance and variety. There are many qualified writers on education in this country but it is kevindonnellykevindonnellykevindonnelly and nobody else! Bah!
A lot of the stuff he writes by the way I agree with but for Christ’s sake give someone else a go from time to time. I do note he is the right’s favourite commentator and whenever there is an educational gig the Liberals always call him in and hand over the big bux.

    • Dismayed says:

The regressive Donnelly who continues to spruik the benefits of rote parroting in his own article shows his stance is personal and ideological. He highlights his long standing regressive campaign in his first 2 words.

    Carl on the Coast

You’ve done it again! The complete sentence ends “…. scroll down to page 50 for his take on Christmas.”
Why on Earth you would to go onto a bizarre critique (satire goes over your head obviously) of another subject altogether is beyond my ken.
You’re probably right though about McPherson, not that he’d want to, he is rational and very well informed and focussed on trying to get through to the blockheaded deniers and fence sitters. I’m not sure that Sisyphean task is all that rational.
As long as you get your ten years in, nothing else matters does it old boy?
Always willing to help I include some more Bierce in the hope exposure to the realist genius will kindle a spark of enthusiasm in you for irony.

Actually I was hinting at an observation of mine that Snott was sounding distinctly like her Ladyship Annie when the same was in one of her distinctly unladylike moods. I suspect she (ahem) is terribly disappointed with certain elements within the conservative parties at this present time and isn’t quite up to the enthusiasm necessary to sustain an approximation of the image of the archetypal jolly hockey sticks matron of the landed gentry. Which doesn’t mean she isn’t letting go the odd angry shot from that trusty old .303 from a sniping position.
Should the Libs reinstall Jug Ears, no doubt she will be back in full flight generously dispensing her pumpkin scones of wisdom.
    Give ’em heaps.

HMMM an many supposedly educated people here support his freak. They support him knowing he brags about sexual assault is a bigoted racist and already a proven liar. This is the true conservative movement.

Interesting to hear M. Waugh say Johan Botha wouldn’t be the worst one you could pick for India now he is a naturalised Australian?

    • smoke says:

      may as well pick me

      • Dismayed says:

He cant be any worse than Lyon. He would offer batting strength down low as well. It is clear you don’t really understand what you are seeing when watching cricket, much like Milton and few others here.

        • smoke says:

he won’t be any better is the problem

          • Dismayed says:

Botha’s bowling improved when he played for Sth. Aust. in the shield for 2 seasons. I think he would do just as well if not better than Lyon through his fighting qualities alone. His batting and experience would be helpful and would allow the selection of an O’Keefe, Agar, Zampa another spinner for India. Along with a middle order all rounder. I really think the have to go back to M.Marsh, Henriques, Faulkner, Christian someone of that calibre to support Starc and Hazelwood in India. Khawaja has to go up to opening with Warner. Renshaw like Maddinson is Not ready for test level.

          • smoke says:

yeah cool with that but hell O’Keeffe Zampa Holland Boyce are grownup’s now……aren’t they all salivating…

back to Lyon tho….what is the aversion to staying outside off stump? for longer periods?
            wickets wickets wickets…….

  • Dismayed says:

MCG Cricket well poised. Pakistan can have a lash early, put Australia in and IF Australia bat well the game could be all square at the end of day 3. IF Australia can bat well?

Jesus Christ. Everything has to become a “thing” around here. What do you want? A trigger warning and a safe space to hide in?

Mate, I have to drink two bottles of Jameson before I can sing that badly. And I suspect the “artists” in that clip had happened upon the same idea. If vocal techniques were aircraft, Seth MacFarlane’s would be a Boeing Dreamliner and that Pogues performance would be one of those plywood-and-cardboard monstrosities with 29 wings piloted by a fat bloke dressed as a clown that flies for three seconds before going and collapsing in on itself as it plummets into the Yarra at the Moomba Festival.

I only put Seth’s piece up to contrast with what he’s better known for:
