Let me take you back. Way, way back to the evening of December 2, 2017. The Prime Minister and his deputy stood arm in arm at the West Tamworth Leagues Club. Joyce had just won the New England by-election by a thumping margin and Turnbull declared he was “putting the band back together.”
Ah, good times.
Alas, rock stars and politicians are, if nothing else, a difficult and unpredictable lot. Velvet Underground reformed and got halfway through a European tour in 1992 before the band’s two enormous egos, Lou Reed and John Cale, remembered why the band had split up in the first place. The two men hated the sight, let alone the creeping presence, of one another. The tour and the reunion ended abruptly, and Reed and Cale went their separate ways.
The Turnbull-Joyce combo did not come to grief because of crippling personality conflict. although it may do so at some time in the near future. But back then the band had only broken up when Joyce discovered his unfortunate New Zealand-news. We subsequently learned the High Court did not so hold and Joyce was off to a by-election that on the parliamentary numbers at least, threatened the Turnbull government’s majority.
Full column here.
So Joyce and Turnbull met in Sydney today and agreed they need to work closer together…….. and TA has weighed in to the debate apparently.
The next episode in Days of our Lives on tonight’s news should be a ripper
I’m Tony and I’m here to help – not!
I wish he would go away.
Bella, have you been keeping updated on the coalitions rorting of Taxpayer Funds that were supposed to be spent on Conservation projects and Endangered species? Just another disgraceful rorting and pork barrelling exercise by the coalition. Absolutely disgraceful. This country desperately need a Federal ICAC this coalition has been the most corrupt government in this Nations history. No surprises
Conservation will never be a priority for conservatives Dismayed, they’re all about destruction no matter the cost, which is historically why they can’t ever be trusted.
This rorting of funds for the protection of the Environment and Endangered species you’ve mentioned is something I didn’t know, however, it was most probably a lie from the get go with these clowns.
You’ve only got to remember the pathetic spectacle of Turncoat worshiping at the feet of Shinzo Abe to know that nobody & I mean nobody in his loser government has the guts to stand up to Japan over their cruel illegal poaching of sentient beings in the Southern Ocean.
Thank-you for the information D, much appreciated.
Nothing comes near Howard’s Regional Resources Fund whereby billions of dollars were poured into Un National Party seats up to and just before the 2007 election. You were supposed to have detailed applications for funds. Surprised bushies could not believe their luck when just before the election, hundreds of millions of dollars poured into ‘projects’ that had not even been applied for!’ Looters right to the end and watch them do it again if they look like losing the next election.Expensive booby traps everywhere…… Brandis did it in 2016 handing out millions in jobs and freebies to Looter mates.
Could you provide an example Dismal?

Two articles totally unrelated to threatened species and a Guardian piece quoting Labor and the Greens…….
So, that means if this the most corrupt government ever, you know everything about all other governments since Federation. Do you ever read the garbage you write? You need a permit from the local council for excess garbage production.
Frydenberg proves all that is wrong with the cons. While visiting a Texan Carbon Capture and Storage sight he claims it is reducing emissions 40%. False. The facts are 6% of the emissions are captured re-injected to help stimulate existing depleted field and then 30% of the 6% captured leaks out again. There are only 2 CCS project related to coal on the planet. There is NO such thing as “clean coal” Kevin Rudd put huge amounts of money into CCS. Abbott took out $460 million from Rudd’s CCS program. Frydenberg like the coalition supporters lie and mislead the Nation deliberately. No Surprises.
How do you make your living Dismal? What has fed, what I’d imagine, your long suffering and highly regimented family. I reckon everyone on here would agree it wouldn’t be love.
25 Tomorrow, sons, their ladies, some of their friends, 3 soon to be in laws, ribs, pork belly, beer and wine. Old Razors ribs are legendary! Only problem is razor doesn’t drink from Sunday to Friday but he loves cooking and seeing the people he loves have a good time. Get it? No I didn’t think so……
Sounds like a good bash, Razor, enjoy!
You in the vicinity of Straddie again?
A great afternoon had by all Boa and yes back in the lee of Straddie again after 2years in the North.
Haven’t been up there for quite a while. Bit naughty – just don’t like the heat. The Straddie mob are coming down here in May – but I’ll get up there in June when I get back from France.
I’ll give you a hoy on the blog if you’re around!
Sounds great Boa make sure you do.
By golly Razor you are such a generous chap in the praise you heap on yourself.
Only my ribs JB. A success again!
I have to request forgiveness. Completely wrong on the last one. I have just been lectured by the men of the family, and no, he’s not a victim, just an idiot that didnt keep control of his own spunt. I saw a predator, but my blokes laughed and said ‘yeah, they’re everywhere’ but you wear a condom.
.
And of course all the rest was complete speculation on my behalf based only on witnessing previous women do unscrupulous things.
apologies JtI.
I took it down.
Wondering when Abbott was going to stick the boot in.
Pick up the phone Tony says, guess that means no more radio interviews or sniping in press conferences himself hey Tony?
He won’t be content until Turnbull’s dragged down and if that means the Liberal party is cut to shreds in the process so be it
Yes, Tracy, Tony Abbott must be chortling in triumph right now.
Tony Abbott is the Liberal Party’s Kevin Rudd Tracy so full of vengeance isn’t he. Bear in mind though that the guy who ousted him has proven a total dud himself. Cheers
Credit where due, Tracy the PM is doing a good job cutting the party to shreds on his ownsome!
From what little I saw of Abbott’s comments he was not overtly critical of Turnbull. He, Abbott, seemed to focus on the unenlightened people in South Australian, and his wish to enlighten them. Sadly, for many of those poor, cult membered or fearful buggers their last look at bright lights was in the shape of a great big mushroom cloud!
When you think of it, hehe, being thrown in a barrel would hardly raise and eyebrow!
Snowtown?
With your indulgence Mr Insider, a tad off topic I know but always willing to add to the education of that little Aussie Battler, Mr Baptiste. Dear Mr Baptiste attached you will find an enlightening clip of Russia’s Space Program to take them to the Moon and beat the USA. The only reason they did not succeed dear fellow was due to Political bungling. They were streets ahead of the USA and should have got there first but alas. No mention of any concern of going through your dreaded Van Allen Belt and also from the USA who went thru it goodness must have been 15 or more times. Cheers young Space Cadet, you have much to learn
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vi6fjs_8Yx8
The reason the Russians didn’t go the moon you goose is because it cannot be done. The Russians are proposing an attempt in the mid 2030’s if they can find some electronic means of shielding against radiation.
If you stopped regurgitating the nonsense you swallowed and start researching you should be able to eventually grasp the reasons why humans are nowhere near capable of doing such a thing.
You’re like some ignorant medieval plodder zealously insisting on the existence of God, for the same reasons you believe in manned moon landings.
That’s why the wealthy shareholders live in grand palaces, because they take the great seething mass of plonkers for a ride, over and over again.
Bollocks, Mr Baptiste, clearly you did not view that clip I posted as it makes it 200% clear that it was Political blunders that halted the Russian Moon Space Program, they knew it could be done and had the Scientists been left to their own devices they would have gone to the Moon as early as 1967, all in the clip fellow. Now for your further education here in a short clip explaining the Van Allen Belt and how it is totally different from say Earth’s X Rays. The Belt is made up of Charged Particle Radiation, not Gamma, this am sure will be news to your good self. Stumble on Mr Baptiste while the reality belts you about the “kisser” one day it will dawn on you that we went to the Moon safely 6 times! Cheers

As usual, Henry B a lovely and informative post. Old featherhead will respond as directed from conspiracy central. As you know, Henry old mate is a self loathing, US hating, anti-capitalist and seriously conflicted chap, living the highlife on the largesse of our govt’s teat.
what doesn’t pass the pub test is why the hundreds involved in the “faked moon landing” on the US side kept mum. beyond the pub test, why would all the scientific geniuses, from all countries, many a maverick and iconoclast, stay quiet on the impossibility of a man moon landing???
Surely if it was a con, under the Nixon administration, the abc, sbs and the usual sheep bleaters would be all over it. But no.
I think Jean is, as always, worshipping at the temple of Onan.
never mind, Henry he’s harmless and always entertaining.!!!
ps. what’s his little mate’s thoughts on man moon landing? (it’s all cool dismayed, we’ll wait to you’re provided a response from hq. but I still expect a response, me old mate!)
Beautiful and accurate summation of our dear friend old “featherhead”, Milton and he responded as we expected and of course did not watch that clip I posted which showed clearly that Russia could easily have beat the US to the Moon except for major Political bungling of their advanced Space Program. Here’s a clip you might like explaining the Van Allen Belt and how the US Astronauts were protected from it, posted to old “featherhead” too but he wont view it. Cheers

You’d better withdraw or substantiate the statement that I am living off the government Milton.
Never mind, I have no reason to give a flying %&%* what a wet behind the ears kid who understands nothing about how our society is organised and controlled and believes even the most ludicrous and impossible things shoved down his throat thinks.
You are probably about as far from individuating and thinking for yourself as it is for someone at puberty or older to be. You are too unintelligent to even imagine that what you have been told by the authority figures in your life could be a load of garbage.
But you’re cute. Your statements above indicate the level of your ignorance and gullibility and clearly you cannot learn a damn thing outside of your pathetic comfort zone.
but you are useful,
http://centerforaninformedamerica.com/moondoggie/
hahaha – pull your head in, Curly you’re starting to sound all punch drunk. All Australian’s are living large on the ample health, security, education, safety net, democracy, policing and infrastructure that our multi -tiered govts provide. No need to get your panties in a twist because you’ve been born under a lucky star and never had to face the hardships that many have to endure.
Anywho, had a quick look at your link. Didn’t waste my time reading the moondoggie nonsense but read this, in another of the authors ‘investigations’, concerning John Lennon:
“…And as readers surely recall, he was gunned down on December 8, 1980 – purportedly by Mark David Chapman, but more likely by a second gunman.”
If you have enough time on your hands and try hard enough you can conjure up these paranoid conspiracy theories anywhere.
In other words you will not even hear an opinion that threatens your safe little world.
I read an hear lots of different opinions, Jean ( a lot of them on here) and I find none of them threatening. Some are enlightening, informative, interesting and some are wonderfully laughable. And i’m not even sure, what you call a “safe little world”, exists.
Why are you conspiracy theorists and eco-catastrophists so obsessed, and consumed, with threats, fear, shadowy figures, plots, intrigue, thought control, evil overlords, mass hypnotism, the subterfuge by the few over the mindless masses? All that paranoia hand in glove with an inviolable self belief, or megalomania, in their ability to discover and see what is hidden from mere mortals, or that the pliable masses are too lazy and/or stupid to discern beneath the all encompassing veil of secrecy and corruption. The penetrating sage and seer as chosen one!
All that masking impotence and delusion. It seems a little sad, lonely and blue.
No Milton. There are people out here who do real research and discover things that the plodding lick spittles cannot even imagine. The latter choose to remain stupid because they simply do not have what it takes to go against their infantile conditioning.
If you cant figure out why the moon landings were impossible, not to mention a whole lot of other events confected to gull the idiot masses then you are a complete dill.
Bottom line. We are a whole lot smarter and worldly savvy than you.
sez you!
oops…”The latter choose to remain stupid because they simply do not have what it takes to go against their infantile conditioning.”
If they don’t have what it takes, featherbrain, how can they choose??
Anywho, our mutual friend, Henry is finding time in his, no doubt, busy schedule to gently guide you on the path to some sort of understanding as to how the world works. At least have the decency to take a look at the pearls he sends you; and a polite thank-you to him wouldn’t go astray. He appreciates manners!
The world has always been full of idiots who believe in Sky Fairies, why not fairy tales like manned moon landings.
it’s not even as if it is a difficult one to solve.
Blofeld is a stirrer and I doubt hat he is stupid enough to be completely convinced.
Putting Barnaby’s love life to one side, has Barnaby been found guilty of any ministerial misconduct??
Why put his love life to one side? His love life is not ministerial misconduct is it? If it is, the answer is yes.
And so what if he hasn’t been found guilty? He hasn’t been ordered to leave, it has just been suggested he should.
There’s a lot of question marks at the moment, young Milton.
I doubt that everything he’s done so far is squeaky clean – arranged employed for a “non-partner”, accepted a gift from someone who was awarded Government funds, claimed living allowance under questionable circumstances etc. I think there’s enough there to investigate further.
Politics and ?????????? , whether questionable or not, where would they ever end TO?
It seems that Barnaby’s excesses have no end, Carl.
Maybe we’ll find out how long a piece of string is?
Mud sticks…ask Gillard…55million on Royal Commission to snare her and Shorten….not one conviction. Total waste of taxpayers’ money. Ditto Howard-$60million-not ONE conviction of a unionist.
There have been plenty convicted of late Bassy with a number waiting trial.
Have they asked the right questions?
that’s it TV,
maybe Turnbull is privately making a case to barnaby that he is guilty of misconduct, but in public all he talks about is the suffering of poor Natalie.
I think we all have some sympathy for her, but this is a common enough experience and leaving your wife for someone else is hardly ministerial misconduct.
Poor Jacqui is copping a real shellacking over the wall today – along with the rest of us “bogans” down here. ☹
Someone even suggested tossing us out of the Federation – I think he was being nasty, but I thought it was one of the best suggestions there. Another thought of selling us off to NZ .
Not bad either. We have plenty of hydro and wind power, great produce, even better wines and scenery to die for. I think we’d survive. Gilligans Island v.2
Actually down at Salamanca this morning I thought someone had sold us to China without bothering to tell us. But then remembered it’s Chinese new year and they have descended upon us, en masse, on holiday! Retreated back up the hill…..will the tourist season never end….?
Jacqui is not as stupid as those commenters think though. She learnt a bit about playing politics whilst trotting around the corridors of Canberra methinks. By kicking her replacement out of her party she can stand as a senate candidate in her own right – and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if we see her back there.
Sell you to New Zealand? Nah, the only way to suck them into falling for that would be to give them Tasmania, and a dowry.
I’ll go with that one too, JB. NZ is great.
But the Kiwis are no fools, the reparations they would demand for taking on Tasmania would bankrupt the Australian government.
OK, after long and protracted negotiations (i had to tell a few porkies) I’ve got them to accept DIsmayed as dowry. The only unconditional clause was that he be stationed on the highest peak over there with no internet access.
They are very happy.
The Kiwis negotiated with you? Talk about dumb. They didn’t realise you had no authority?
Whoa, back up a bit! Do you realise you have no authority?
Oh dear, this is a worse case than I thought.
They say a week is a long time in politics but is not when you are on holiday.
If any more proof was needed that Turnbull has a lack of political nous and a tin ear then the sex ban is it. I’m not even sure that old mate, Abbott would have considered it.
Sorry Milton, they don’t get to screw/bonk/root their staff on my tax dollar, we foot the bill for many perks but that isn’t one of them, nor is it tax deductible………no double dipping!
Been going on for decades in Canberra, Tracy.
The only reason this blew up so spectacularly was the pregnancy – that couldn’t be hidden under the table.
Milton, with one stroke of the pen Malcolm deliberately ejaculated his decree that the jerks in office will forthwith get a grip and will no longer enjoy the perks of office.
It’s a synonym of “utter”, “call out” or “come out with”.
Carl, I thought the word was expostulate…..but I could be wrong…
Interchangeable Penny. In Carls post he found it better to ejaculate than expostulate.
Aha, that’s where he gets the inspiration!
oh dear. this blog is degenerating to a level that my sensitive disposition cannot countenance.
Would a little decorum be too much to ask for, fellow contributors?
ps i’m not singling you out, dear Razor you are but one swept up in this sewer of depravity.
No offence taken Milt. Carl’s use of ejaculatory expression has been at the forefront of the blog for some time. I’ve noted JB in particular has been a fan and has swallowed Carl’s offerings with gusto!
Rubbish. I slap him down now and again for waving it about.
HTFU you pansy.
sticks and stone’s, featherbrain!
Huh? You were the cry baby.
Given the context of his decree, ejaculate seems apt!
Absolutely Boa! One cannot be too careful when one is using a stroke of the pen to make a decree. An ejaculatory response was inevitable given the context and I for one support Carl in his hardening, some may say, erect stance on this salacious topic.
I love the photo with the matching shirts, Jack.
I’m guessing they’re Bud lights, as they don’t seem to be too heavy on the buddies thing these days.
