Here I was all set to knock out a Christmas column full of cheer and bonhomie but life, or more accurately, Daily Life has intervened.
I normally disapprove of intra-media byplays but Fairfax Media’s Daily Life section has become so full of cranky third wave feminism that someone needs to hold it up to the light. Among this waste of ink and kilobyte street corner psychobabble, comes a contribution from self described feminist Polly Dunning who tells her harrowing tale of giving birth to a shame boy. The good news is she’s slowly getting over it.
I’m not allowed to swear anymore, at least not at volume but this is sorely testing my already fragile grip on self-control.
At first blanch this was merely another addition from women who have recently given birth and have come to believe that having done so, they have unlocked the secrets of the universe. But on further reading this is a tale of a woman not just at war with men but also her own male child.
Full column here.
As I have said…a con, a waste of money….all for a political scare…

Yet another muso down. 2016 not over just yet….. I rather liked the Careless Whispers album
Someone sed he wrote that when he was only 17
2016 not finished. Not that I’m a big George Michael fan, but ironic that he departed on Christmas Day. Seven days to go…
ok TV what happens on 2nd january 2017?
cheers
You’ll just have to wait and see! I’m on holidays, I don’t have to count proper…but I meant 7 days from Christmas Day. God’s truth your honour.
We went to a wedding on Christmas Day. Great stuff. I have an excellent video of local girls doing a Karaoke of ‘We wish you a Merry Christmas’, with the bride’s brother so drunk he KO’ed the top tier of the wedding cake; western girl visitors carousing up there with them. I’d post it somewhere but it’s over 500MB.
They do know how to have a party here though, I must say.
Straya!
Where are you TV?…,sounds wonderful
And it’s 1-2-3, what are we fightin’ for?
Don’t ask me I don’t give a damn,
Next stop is…
Around seven days and so far we have Princess Leia and now her mum too… three more days (including today!)
Bloody hell, was hoping that Maddinson would make a few runs.
On the topic du jour I think this Polly woman is disgraceful, SMH editor also for publishing it and the sickening comment about a male growing inside of her. That’s exactly what got her pregnant in the first place, but a lot of the blame probably goes to the mother. Too many acid trips in the 70’s methinks.
Bloody hell, George Michael dead at 53, too young I reckon, he did have an above average voice, easy on the ears. Vale.
George Michael gone at 53 couldn’t stand Wham but it’s sad news, may the force be with Carrie Fisher.
Bassman 03:46 pm.
Talk about bias bullshit most trusted ,…Jones 29% you say when his ratings won 105 in a row over 11 year period.
twice higher then AbiasC radio.
Wipe your face Bassman,…the bullshit is running down.!
Yes sad cafe on you indocrinated into “frivolous selective idealoical driven disasterous rediculous exaggeration posts.”
ALAN JONES:-the stats on his listeners are well know. Most of his listeners are retired right wing pensioners in their 60’s and 70’s like yourself. He has been pulled up before the Tribunal fort lying and producing wrong facts (especially on climate change) more than any other broadcaster. By the way…taken from your Bible The Daily Terror, August 23rd…”Radio powerhouse Alan Jones’ 2GB breakfast program continues to dominate in Sydney with a share of 14.3 per cent.” I know you will believe your Bible. By the way, this means 85.7% are NOT listening to The Parrot! ABiasC you say. A poll published last week found the ABC the most trusted news source.
You would not know because your news only comes from two biased sources old mate…hee hee.

The Grim Reaper Toll This Year Bald:- David Bowie Alan Rickman ,Glenn Frey, John English, Lemmy, Merle Haggard, Prince, Leon Russell, Cassius Clay, Arnold Palmer, Max Walker, Leonard Cohen, Rick Parfitt, Paul Kantner (J. Hairplane), Keith Emerson, George Martin…..many of these were young…in their Rodent’s.
What? No Prince Buster in your list and you claim to be a musician

You forgetting the facts that Murdock empire of media attract 70% of the readers and judged the most trusted gaining greater awards and deliver “higher quality ” with teams that expand on major fronts of news services.
In 2008 , the Fairfax Network and families with revenue and assets were worth 5.3 billion , today a dying 2.5 billion as shares plummeted to under a dollar. The Murdock network of expanded media outlets , are seeing shares 18 dollars plus last seen .The Australian is regarded the most successful with Telegraph second when comes to readers .The Australia comes to quality as do popularity , is travelling in a fast lane comes to reputable writers .
Don’t know where you get your information from Rodent, but the ABC has been voted again as the most trusted media outlet in Australia. Just because you don’t listen or watch makes not the slightest bit of difference to the overall feelings of most Australians with regard to the ABC.
You’re not their target audience Rodent
When did that happen Penny?
As only 10% of Australians actually watch it these figures may be open to interpretation
http://joannenova.com.au/2013/02/three-times-as-many-australians-think-the-abc-has-a-pro-labor-bias/
Robin, Joanne “Nova” is a Heartland Foundation shill who is notorious for spreading misinformation. This is a case in point. For the record, the headline of the Oz article she cherry-picked from was “Most people don’t believe political bias widespread”, something she chose not to mention.
The 10% you cite is ABC1’s overall yearly share. ABC TV as a whole is on about 14%, about the same as the Ten network and not far behind Nine and Seven on about 17% each. All in the same ballpark, so no point made there.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Television_ratings_in_Australia#Yearly_shares
But the percentage who “actually watch” the ABC over time is over 60%:
http://www.roymorgan.com/findings/5945-abc-and-sbs-shows-australians-really-love-and-especially-choose-to-watch-september-2014-201411240158
As for the “three times as many” seeing a pro-Labor bias, this is a classic bit of “Nova” fact-twisting. Eighty percent of people don’t believe the ABC is biased, and all the studies done over recent decades looking for actual bias suggest they are correct. Out of the 20% who see bias, three-quarters think it is pro-Labor, but that means nothing by itself. IMO it is just as likely to mean that the inherent rigidity of conservative thought makes them more prone to seeing any departure from their own view as bias.
JOH, I trust Jo Nova implicitly. It’s Scaper’s bible, must be right.

It shows you are “way out of touch” comes to accuracy in readers and trust with your Faifax near finished in their shrinking market. I read the Australian for my material to comment on before the Telgraph, so wrong again Bassman!
Your figures again don’t reflect readers with your ABiasC and Farcefax polls usually select some arm polls related to their networks. Get with strengh Bassman, not with the dying ferals that giggle along at their employees at Fairfax with “haters ” Clementine Ford. Can’t find your obsolete AGE anywhere in the papershops or your shrinking paper SMH
Bassman! Just remember on older generations as do mixed , still buy papers in shops while some young people forget politics on this planet, could not involve in time to bark on about politics.
Start face reality , Fairfax is heading for the heavens.
Well I hope everyone’s day past by as enjoyably and smoothly as mine. Still, I’ve got to catch up with my clan later this week. I always suggest and wish for neutral territory – i’m hoping somewhere in the middle east this year!
On to more important matters, it’s about 12 hrs before the toss of the coin and then let the festivities begin. I hope all our newbies and young fellas get their xmas wish.
