Politicians sucking hard in our living rooms

The week in Australian federal politics was headlined by the triumphant return of ‘Bad’ Malcolm Turnbull.

Australians had become accustomed to the pinkie-extended punctilios of Pleasant Malcolm and it has become clear they don’t much care for them.

So with nothing left to lose, Bad Malcolm got a run and delivered a withering character assessment of the Opposition leader. It was a terrific spray, no doubt, so full of harsh burns Bill Shorten may well still be plastering himself in aloe vera.

Bad Malcolm left his best line to last: “This sycophant, blowing hard in the House of Representatives, sucking hard in the living rooms of Melbourne — what a hypocrite.”

Understandably, lovers of the pugilistic arts weren’t about to get too excited. Should the People’s House ever become the House of Stoush with ‘Truffles’ Turnbull and ‘Wee Billy’ Shorten coming to blows, it would make last week’s Danny Green-Anthony Mundine fight look like the Thriller in Manilla.

“This is the downside of energy privatisation” and your whole reply:

    .
You are a smart man Jack, no politics is what we need on this, but they cant help themselves. There are so many uniformed idiots that carry on about what goes on in South Australia with no facts or real idea, even on this blog, Ive got to the point I wont even bother replying to them because they are beyond stupid.
Energy supply is vital, and it needs to be under government control, the free market is a bastard, not concerned about us, only about making money.
Privatisation of our State, years ago, is what has left this mess. NOT wind turbines, and NOT the solar panel providers. Its the grafters in control. but you try and tell that to a dullard who just wants to yell about coal.
    .
    ps hope you’re travelling well.
    cheers.

“…the South Australian Senator managed to raise the IQs on the government and cross benches simultaneously.”

    Love it!

    Oh, Joy! First look at the blog in the morning and the list of comments starts, Dismayed . . . Dismayed . . . Dismayed . . . BASSMAN . . . BASSMAN . . .
Jeez, if I wanted to be ignorant, depressed AND bored I’d sit in a Centrelink waiting room reading The Age all day. I’m out. Have a good day, y’all!

    • BASSMAN says:

Great to hear you went to a good school and learnt to read. Please thank your teachers!

      TBLS
Must be ESP. I must be honest I’ve got to the same stage. I have a naturally happy disposition and was just thinking this morning that I probably don’t need this crap. I cannot understand someone who is just so utterly and endlessly miserable. I find it depressing too. And I’m a bit tired of being told how ignorant I am by some dolt who has no right to insult me or anyone else for that matter. I have self esteem.
Sure there are things that are wrong but there are things out there in our world to enjoy and I will make the most of it. And I’m not ashamed of that – not one iota.
JB, I appreciate and enjoy your keen wit and clever irony. But not today , thanks. Not in the mood.
Have a nice day all. Beautiful here in paradise – bit chilly today though!

Get up earlier and look outside of your narrow world view.

    • Robin says:

Dismal is just plain dismal. at least bassy does not abuse others who disagree with him.
I understand where your coming at. What the dismal one is doing is destroying this blog, how long it will last is anybodies guess

      • Razor says:

Some might say that’s his aim Robin.

      • Dismayed says:

robin I was here before you and will be here after you have left. You want a conservative comedy circle to reconfirm your already held ridiculous views. Sigh. I don’t start but I will respond. Get your circulation checked blood starvation is making you as dishonest as razor. you are a very sad case.

        • Robin says:

So paranoid dismal one there you go again. Are you claiming to own this blog because it has printed your dribblings for so long? perhaps longer than anyone else? You are the biggest troll on the internet so I suppose you feel proud to have driven so many who do not share your twisted view of the universe away from here. More than everyone else put together I would guess. You are slime

TBLS……I agree, but a couple of weeks ago, I opened the blog and it was just Rodent’s comments that were heading up the blog. Remember a while back it was Rodent and Bassman reliving all their past disagreements day after day.
I’ve said this before but a lot of people have come and gone from this blog and some pop back in from time to time. For the life of me I can’t see why if Dismayed annoys so many people they don’t just ignore him. He’s not going to destroy this blog, the only thing that will is if JTI suddenly decides he’s had enough and there are times I seriously wouldn’t blame him.
Happy Valentines Day to you and to all on this blog. I discovered this morning I have a secret admirer…..how exciting!

Back in the Hawke days , union membership accelerated towards 67% when politics was getting primed up .I spent 37 years a member when conditions were stable with no outbreaks of violence being harmony was the game we all enjoyed .
As time went on , deteriation as stats shown , (wished I would of kept the article) shows union membership plunged under the Rudd/Gillard days to end at 19% at the end of the Rudd period .Tony Sheldon placed no blame on the Howard government saying Rudd was a problem for the Labor government who could not gain entry into discussions with Rudd . Sheldon when I was in aviation ,told us Rudd was like a” road block” with rolling strikes regular at Mascot and other airports. Sheldon also admitted he fought battles with John Howard as well .Sheldon is the’ master blaster ‘ for the TWU . Rudd he said was a failure with PR work and a problem for us unions , more then John Howard was who also times we had difficulty .
Lets Hope Dismayed you keep your finger off the trigger taking aim at me just been the messenger.

Bring back the Coal Fired Power Stations I say Mr Insider, restart those shut down, nothing wrong with Coal and new technologies always coming on line to make it burn cleaner. Bless you Scott Morrison for taking that gorgeous big lump of Coal into Parliament last week, you made a great point with it. Shame on the Greens and the do gooders for the mess they have created with our Power supply in Australia.

  • Henry Blofeld says:

Mr Insider please tell me PM Turnbull’s going to achieve something, anything, for the Australian people in Parliament this week. As he has frittered away the last 16 months surely now is the time to move forward and start implementing his agenda , if he has one at all. Yes we were all impressed with his flurry of spit and phlegm last week in his confected “anger” towards Bill Shorten, but its “knackers to the wind” time Turnbull, put up or go away you silly little man!
