Mother and child disunion

Here I was all set to knock out a Christmas column full of cheer and bonhomie but life, or more accurately, Daily Life has intervened.

I normally disapprove of intra-media byplays but Fairfax Media’s Daily Life section has become so full of cranky third wave feminism that someone needs to hold it up to the light. Among this waste of ink and kilobyte street corner psychobabble, comes a contribution from self described feminist Polly Dunning who tells her harrowing tale of giving birth to a shame boy. The good news is she’s slowly getting over it.

I’m not allowed to swear anymore, at least not at volume but this is sorely testing my already fragile grip on self-control.

At first blanch this was merely another addition from women who have recently given birth and have come to believe that having done so, they have unlocked the secrets of the universe. But on further reading this is a tale of a woman not just at war with men but also her own male child.

Full column here.

Sydney Fish Markets is one of my favourite places to visit and shop, and there is a wonderful meat outlet there as well.

Little did I know until today they also did cocaine, indeed 360 kilos of the stuff. A bust by AFP and State police that was 3 years in the making. Their patience was rewarded, with it seems the whole gang stitched up. A pending delivery was also nicked in Tahiti.

Maybe the planned new market at Blackwattle Bay will have a few interesting alleys included.

Lou, I rode past the Sydney Fish Markets quite a few years ago and there was a sign outside, “Appearing Tonight, John Laws”. Some sort of Spongebob cabaret? never figured that one out. Unless he was directing the smuggling operations way back?

I could have told you that plaice (hehe) was fishy from the get go, Lou!

The coke you could get with your fish and chips at the takeaway outlets there might not be soft drink?

    Dismayed .
Just on this ME situation, 75% of the Arab League of Nations endorse Israel as the peacemaker in the ME so as the oil trade being their concern , must not break down. Stability must be assured as priority given to this Israel to sort out the aggressors and maintain balance in the ME before it is fractured forever.
As for most Arab peace nations , the reading says , they don’t want tl get involved , so believe the power of Israel must be maintained to diffuse any further hostility .If this mad core of the UN decides to turf out Israel, well this will lead to another power struggle all over again as nuclear facilities surround this explosive area , this may be an option for terrorism to stike at some time to close us all down .
I could not care less if they fight on killing each other these rogue Arab countries who have bad blood in them , but don’t interfere with democracy and peace for gods sake .

    BASSMAN (12.20pm, 29/12)

says: “ABBOTT: … His lot have limited the time pensioners can spend o/seas;”

That is manifestly untrue Bassy, and you know it. Those who wish to travel overseas (whether they be pensioners or otherwise) are free to stay as long as the various host countries’ travel conditions allow. Your run-in with Centrelink re your frequent overseas sojourns has apparently soured any objective view you may have had on the subject.

Cut back on cask wine consumption and bring the scrap book up to date Bassy, would be my suggestion.

Otherwise, hope you’re ok up there on the Tweed mate.

    • BASSMAN says:

TOASTER:-It is VERY true. Check the time people on a disability can spend o/seas. It has been cut under your Looters. From January 2015 disability pensioners can only stay o/seas 4 weeks before their pension is cut. It used to be 3 months.
And other pensioners…. previously they could stay o/seas for 26 weeks and receive their full pension. From January 2017, pensioners will have their pension reduced after just six weeks. This unfairly targets migrants who wish to visit their families. To receive the full pension a person would have had to live 35yrs in Australia.
Otherwise it will be reduced on a pro-rata basis. If this has been changed I have not read about it.
      &
Don’t you get it? As Hockey said “The Liberals are the best friend pensioners could have”. Believe them. Keep voting for them Toaster. They love people like you.

      • Razor says:

Not a bad racket to be on the pension and able to stay overseas for 26 weeks.

        • BASSMAN says:

If they have worked 35yrs in this country what is the problem? Not a racquet?
You shld be able to do what you like with your pension…it is YOURS that U have paid taxes for as Menzies said…”Menzies comments on unemployment and sickness benefits 29th March, 1944. “People should be able to obtain these benefits as a matter of right, with no more loss of their own standards of self-respect than would be involved in collecting from an insurance company the proceeds of an endowment policy on which they have been paying premiums for years”.

  • Henry Blofeld says:

Being a bit of a War History buff Mr Insider I make it a point to read up on many aspects of War, ghastly as it sure is, and those involved. A chap I recently read about, and whom you may be familiar, was USMC Sniper Carlos Hathcock who served in Vietnam. After the war he helped set up the Scout Sniper School at Quantico. He must have been good as one of his “kills” was a Vietcong Sniper and he shot him straight through the Vietcong’s rifle scope from a huge distance too. Nasty business but the Snipers support the ground troops as they do to this day. On You Tube is an 3 part interview with him, the only one he ever gave.

    Bella (1.07pm)

I’ve just read your note Bella, and I feel for you and your son at this time. He’s no doubt in good hands at the hospital and with you as his backstop I’m sure he’ll be ok . I’m always a bit clumsy with messages in instances such as these, but I want you to know that you are not alone.
My best wishes for a speedy outcome for your son.
    Thinking of you both.

Phew! That could have been a lot worse. Ditto. Wishing a speedy recovery for your young’un.

    Razor 12:36PM

Yes of course they are Razor. Kimmie is my good mate but I wouldn’t buy a used car from him either. I’ve been helping them as a consultant on the construction of the sound stage and coaching them on how to avoid silly mistakes in the filming.
Bit of a dilemma, to crater or not to crater? I insist nobody is going to believe 3,000 lbs of rocket thrust wont knock a bloody great hole in the regolith.
Kimmie says “On the contrary JB……………. ”

The Russians will be livid! They still hope to get it sorted by 2035. Good luck with that. After all the moon is going to look like a bloody good place to be by 2035.
In the “DTWBSTT” methodology (Dazzle Them With Bullsh*t Tech Talk) of justifying a mega scam, I’m not sure why but I reckon this is a fake. What say you Razor?

Very very sad, Debbie Reynolds gone after just what she gone through , She delivered great enjoyment all through these years , now gone .

  • Rodent says:

    Dismayed 10:02am .
Not according on a peace and democracy level they did the hypocrits . This UN PC appeasement garbage shows peace is forced to wait till some proper levels of government realise the outcomes of dangers that will continue to spiral out of control. You can’t have terrorist cultures running the show in the ME Dismayed! At the moment we have containment in the Israel /Palestine fued that soon will may flare up again while UN endorsement of mad Arab Hamass will see that the UN communists like installed member Robert McGabe and Saudia Arabia and Iran give them
the OK to go after Israel again. Israel Dismayed has the ability to stall future fueds and frictions but must find now the corrupt UN is their greatest enemy . The UAE have been abit rough around the edges earlier , but now batting for peace with Israel ,and to endorse Israel as the peace leader that can settle rogue restless nations nearby .
