William O’Sullivan beat his 22-month-old stepson, Mason Lee, to the point where Lee died from his injuries some five days later.

Details of 37-year-old O’Sullivan’s sentencing were released in the Queensland Supreme Court yesterday. He pleaded guilty to four charges, including manslaughter and cruelty to a child under 16-years of age.

O’Sullivan has been sentenced to nine years jail, six years of which are not subject to parole. With time served he may be out in four years.

The story of short, tormented life of Mason Lee is heartbreaking. He died of horrific injuries and in terrible pain.

In 2009, Heidi Strbak inflicted a series of fatal blows on her four-year-old son, Tyrell Cobb, in their Gold Coast home. Last year Strback was found guilty of manslaughter. She was sentenced to nine years in jail. She will be eligible for parole in 2021.

The late great George Carlin, Mr Insider and his topic “Saving The Planet”. He was one of a kind imho.

Carlin says it like it is. Love his work. ☺

    • Jean Baptiste says:

It’s brilliant Noss. What Carlin is really saying is that the futile fools, of whom I was one, hopelessly overestimated the human intelligence required to modify our behaviour to sustain a liveable ecosystem on the planet.

Even now there are idiots who sincerely do not believe in AGW. And the monkeys, and George was a brilliant monkey for what thats worth, may have the last laugh on “The Planet.” If Venusification does occur as a consequence of human activity then The Planet wont feel so smug for having seen us off. Unless he The Planet only used us to get up to speed with Venus?

      Give ’em heaps.

Of course, its a generally widely well held view that Labor are more inclined to have “nanny state” policies, more so than the LNP. So its rather odd that Labor now appear to have suddenly become ridiculously obsessive and negative about the temporary visit some time ago of a couple of o/s au pairs. Its all they seem to be banging on about nowadays. Talk about one-trick ponies.

There’s no doubt the Federal Opposition have been blown off course by a re-freshened and revitalised LNP. Yes, labor will need to take stock lest they quickly become one of the most predictable and feeble Oppositions this nation has seen.

    • Jean Baptiste says:

      Oh Lordy, desperate much!

    • Bella says:

I don’t think the LNP are “refreshened and revitalised” mate, more like same, same, only worse.
Watching Morrison with Leigh Sales last night, he’s sounding like a machine gun on steroids & he purposely avoided her questions & flat out lied about addressing climate change. Hard to stomach.
The Wagga Wagga result is about where they will stay from hereon to the election. Sorry Carl, I know you want it to be different.

Do some people not realise that cartoonists use caricature?

  • JackSprat says:

From 2020, the developed nations have committed to giving us$100 billion annually to the undeveloped countries to allow them to handle emissions. (The Green Climate Fund). This is on top of current foreign aid. Does anybody know what Australia’s financial commitment is?
By the way , China is conspicuous by its absence.
Our population in 2005 was around 22 million. In 2030, it was projected to be 28 million give or take a million. That’s a 27% increase largely due to immigration and the “big Australia” policy.
The expected reduction is 64%-65% to the economy as a whole and around 50% per head over 2005 levels.
Does “big Australia” mean that we have to reduce the per capita rate even further?
    Dunno!

    • Jean Baptiste says:

Yer dunno? Well bloody well find out now that you’ve got me discombobulated. I’ll need to recalibrate my ire. Is this AGW bullshit going to cost me more or less money? It’s bloody important sport.

“Union bred, Union led, Union fed” chants PM Scott Morrison re PM in Waiting Bill Shorten, Mr Insider. I think we can see what tack the Libs will take to avoid a whitewash at the next election, sadly way too late methinks they are goners.
I have 2 on my “Be off with You” List Mr insider, one P. Dutton and C. Pyne, list building tho.

When isn’t there a good reason for a dummy spit? Perhaps people are drinking too much coffee these days.

  • Henry Donald J Blofeld says:

Lets get ready to see that right wing whack job Peter Dutton, ex ousted PM Abbott’s “glove puppet” voted out at the next election as we see 1000’s of Childcare Workers are mobilising to ensure he does get voted out.
No loss to Australia and no loss to the voters of his marginal electorate.

It just entered my head to consider the experience of the police, doctors, nurses etc whose job it is to deal and care for these poor kids. Certainly not the type of work that switches off at finish time.

government spending blowout. “The majority of the spending blow-out, which coincides with an escalation in outsourcing government work to external consultants – is for defence contracts.” No Surprises.
