William O’Sullivan beat his 22-month-old stepson, Mason Lee, to the point where Lee died from his injuries some five days later.

Details of 37-year-old O’Sullivan’s sentencing were released in the Queensland Supreme Court yesterday. He pleaded guilty to four charges, including manslaughter and cruelty to a child under 16-years of age.

O’Sullivan has been sentenced to nine years jail, six years of which are not subject to parole. With time served he may be out in four years.

The story of short, tormented life of Mason Lee is heartbreaking. He died of horrific injuries and in terrible pain.

In 2009, Heidi Strbak inflicted a series of fatal blows on her four-year-old son, Tyrell Cobb, in their Gold Coast home. Last year Strback was found guilty of manslaughter. She was sentenced to nine years in jail. She will be eligible for parole in 2021.

Oh dear, Malcolm doing a bit of white-anting. Dutton this time. Where’s Tony to complete the menage-a-trois?
The implosion of the party continues.

    • Jack The Insider says:

The more serious matter is Julie Bishop has possibly indicated she will vote for referral in the House.

      • Carl on the Coast says:

Would be even more serious if referred to the High Court.😉

      • Boadicea says:

Perhaps a breakaway party coming next. Nothing would surprise!

      • Milton says:

For the first time in a long time, Julie Bishop is untethered. Where she may come unstuck is in her previous, flexible stances that fell in line with her boss du jour. Her ranking in some polls should alert her to the obvious; she will never become PM. Moreover, if she continues her posturing she will lose her seat.
btw. what policy or positive change on our varied peoples and economic/ cultural landscape has Julie Bishop achieved?

        • Jack The Insider says:

Mate, I get the feeling she doesn’t care much anymore. She has said she will remain in politics until further notice and I believe that is her way of saying to her WA colleague, Christian Porter, no, you won’t just walk in and grab my safe seat. You’re on your own, champion. Good luck with that 3 per cent swing to unseat you.

menage-a-trois! Crikey I had no idea.

    • Dismayed says:

Hardly “white anting” when he openly tweets about it.

ACCC again agreeing to continue the duopoly of the gas pipeline’s now 2 Chinese companies own all the pipelines which is a big contributor to the price of gas on the easy coast. the third party sale of gas is controlled through these pipelines . Sims is either asleep or happy to continue to fail the nation for his own ideology

    • JackSprat says:

Bloody madness if you ask me – as if there will be competition between 2 Chinese companies with one having substantial ownership by the Chinese Communist Party – sorry the Chinese Government.

The hate is deep in the Federal Liberal Party, Mr. Insider as we see ex ousted PM Turnbull plots against Dutton over eligibility to sit in Parliament. Big Mal is doing this from New York where he resides in his luxury apartment.
Can Turnbull’s hate beat Abbotts hate. What a battle to the bottom as the Libs continue to sink.

    • Jean Baptiste says:

Turnbulls hate? More likely cool calculating satisfaction Henry. Big mistake to get on the wrong side of Malcolm when he was in the party, suicide when he is outside.
Whop it up ’em Malcolm! Make ’em take it. Long time.

  • Boadicea says:

Gosh, Peta Credlin seen hanging out at “the ball” – quite literally.

  • Carl on the Coast says:

Yes, if anyone had any doubts about the level of vindictiveness the 29th PM is capable of, then his latest tweet from his bolt hole in NY re “advice” to “colleagues” urging them to refer the Member for Dickson to the HC, should remove any uncertainty as to the depth of the gutter he now inhabits.

    • Jean Baptiste says:

Bollocks! Malcolm is doing absolutely the right thing by Australians. If Dutton is not qualified to serve, then he should not. No point in having rules otherwise. Dutton would have known exactly what he was doing. If he comes unstuck it’s on his own head.
I think it is jolly fine thing for the ex Prime Minister to be taking an interest.

  • Milton says:

Have a read of How Turnbull lit the fuse. Pretty much as I suggested that Turnbull was the architect of his own demise. No judgement and an unwillingness to listen to others.

    • Jean Baptiste says:

Hoist by his own petard? I doubt he was planning his own “demise” so not really the architect, just unintended consequences.

Or was it! Maybe twas was a cunning plan to blow up the Liberal Party and start his own “Republican Party*

“Listening to others isn’t always what it’s cracked up to be by the way.

With the continuing rise of China as a new Superpower, Mr. Insider perhaps we should learn some Chinese. Your humble correspondent is a dab hand with the old Chopsticks but that may not be enough should we wake one day to the presence of the Chinese Army!
Not likely but who could rule anything out in this uncertain world today.
